Consult ยท Business Diagnostic

Where the business loses customers between first enquiry and sale, and what to fix first

A fixed-scope diagnostic, two to three weeks, that replaces opinion about marketing with evidence about the business. Most businesses we look at do not have an advertising problem. They have a response-time problem, a buying-path problem or a pricing-position problem, and advertising into any of those is expensive.

What we examine

Nine places a customer can be lost

Every diagnostic walks the same stations in the order a customer meets them, and measures the drop at each one. The findings are written as headings, so the owner can read the first line of each and know what it says.

Discovery

What AI engines, Google and review platforms say about the business for its offers and market, against the competitor set.

Offer pages

Whether a customer can learn what you sell, who stands behind it and how pricing works without calling.

Enquiry path

Steps, form length, what happens after submit, and how many starters finish โ€“ the booking path of a clinic, the rate page of a hotel, the checkout of a store.

Response

Median time to a human reply, in and out of hours, from enquiries we place ourselves.

Conversion

Enquiries that become sales; where whoever answers the enquiry loses them; the close rate by offer.

Pricing and offer mix

Position against the competitor set by offer; which offers carry the margin and which fill the calendar.

Capacity and repeat

Utilisation, no-show and cancellation rates, and whether customers return on schedule.

Reviews

Rating, velocity and response habit against the two nearest competitors over 12 weeks.

Measurement

Whether a sale can be traced to its source today, and what it would take to make that true.

What you receive

A document the owner can act on in an afternoon

Findings as headings, evidence under each, the implication, and a recommended action. A ranked plan with the three fastest-payback fixes first. A scope and timeline for stage 3 if you choose to continue, with the measures it will be judged on. And a section titled "What we cannot promise", which is standard in every proposal we write.

Delivered in a 60-minute walkthrough with the owner and the manager who runs the day, then left with you. The diagnostic is yours whether or not we do the work.

What we need from you

About four hours of the owner's time

One interview with the owner, one with the manager who runs the day, one observation day where enquiries land. Read access to enquiry and sales data for the last six months; no customer records. In regulated industries such as medical, the professional responsible signs off every claim we quote in the findings.

Before the Diagnostic

Most owners start with the free Business Scan. It takes five working days and tells you whether a full diagnostic is worth your four hours. If the scan shows a single obvious constraint, we scope only that.
